Secret to Securing a Meeting with Warren Buffett
December 10, 2007 02:53 PM PST
Even though entrepreneurs aren’t known for thinking small, sometimes they fall short of their goal only because they don’t believe they can achieve or get access to something that really is within their reach. Jill Hope, founder and visionary of Prosperity Studios, Inc, had one last thing standing in her way from being able to realize her dream. Her dream? Deliver an efficient system to 3rd world countries so that they could get the necessary medicine, food, and health aids they need to live and strive. Usually the response would be…. "You want to do what?" LOL. But in Hope’s case, she has contracts with major health agencies and organizations to fund the entire project to the tune of $5 Billion. So what could possibly be the hold up on this incredible endeavor? An Executive Order from President Bush…. "Oh is that all?" So what did Hope do? Did she look at this seemingly impossible task….get an Executive Order from the President of the United States...and give up? NO. She did the next best thing…. get a meeting with Warren Buffett so he could influence the President of the United States to have a meeting with her and to sign the Executive Order!! She shares with me on this podcast how she was able to get that meeting and what that will mean for her initiative. She is on the goal line. She needs just a small bit of angel investor money or other bridge capital and then the flood gates will open and one of the great aspirations of our time will begin to be fulfilled. When Karen speaks, people listen to what she has to say about raising money! Launch Funding Network and The Network for Business Angels and Investors are successfully bringing entrepreneurs and investors together! Listen and find out what it takes to raise the money that your company needs. Do you have what it takes to close the deal? About KarenKaren Rands got involved in the world of angel investing in 2001. She left corporate world to join one of her clients as their VP and to help them raise their last bit of go-to-market capital. She didn't anticipate the pending market collapse and never did raise the money for that client. What she did discover is a whole new world of investing. Following Robert Kiyosaki's cashflow quadrant premise, investing in businesses, owning a little bit of multiple companies was the way for a dad to be a rich dad or a mom to be a rich mom. Kiyosaki touches on this concept in many of his books. As Karen Rands got more involved in the world of angel investing, she had requests from high net-worth men and women and their money managers to recommend training so they could learn How to be an Angel Investor. There was plenty of training options for public stock market investing and real estate investing, but nothing for private equity investing. In 2003, Karen launched the Learn to Be an Angel Investor (www.howtobeanangelinvestor.com ) ebook series. Thousands opted in to receive the original drafts. Finally, the first 5 books of that series are available to purchase at www.kyrmedia.com. Karen Rands' involvement in the world of angel investing grew with the acquisition of the Network of Business Angels & Investors (www.nbai.net) in 2005. Now with the launch of this blog, My Virtual Angel World, she will let the whole world of angel investors share their experience, insight, and knowledge with others.
